Privacy

Short version: ScrobbleWall has no servers, no accounts of its own and no analytics. Nothing you do in the app reaches us, because there is no us to reach.

What stays on your computer

Your settings, the cached data and every wallpaper the app draws are stored on your own machine, in %APPDATA%\ScrobbleWall and in your Pictures folder. In the portable version they live next to the program instead. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

What leaves your computer, and where it goes

To draw a wallpaper the app has to ask a few public services for information. It sends only what is needed to answer the question:

• Last.fm — your username, to read the listening history that is already public on your profile.
• Spotify — only if you connect it. The app asks what is playing; it never posts, follows or changes anything.
• MusicBrainz and Wikidata — artist names, to find the release year and where the band is from.
• Deezer, iTunes and the Cover Art Archive — artist and album names, to find cover art and band photos.

Those requests go straight from your computer to each service. They are subject to each service's own privacy policy.

What the app never does

• It has no server, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent.
• It asks for no password. Your Last.fm username is enough, because it only reads what is already public.
• It has no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no trackers.
• It does not scrobble, post or modify anything in your accounts.

Removing everything

Open ScrobbleWall, click Turn off — it will offer to delete the wallpapers it created — and then delete the program. To also remove the settings and the cache, delete the %APPDATA%\ScrobbleWall folder.

Children

ScrobbleWall is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.
